What this licence allows

  • Install fixed appliances/systems that circulate air to heat and/or cool building spaces, including roof-mounted or high-wall split systems, ventilation systems, ducting, dampers and return-air systems. Excludes construction of a cool room.
  • Associated plumbing, gas fitting or electrical work requires the relevant separate registration.

Qualifications

Pathway 1

  • Complete an Australian-based apprenticeship as an Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Tradesperson.

Pathway 2

  • Satisfactorily complete the Work History & Onsite Experience Record to be entitled to attend a building interview.

Pathway 3

  • Have held an equivalent registration within the 12 months before the application.
